Trees to Tribunes

THIS film about the Chicago Tribune was made in 1937.

It starts off with logging in Canada, then on to the paper-making process.

We then get a tour of the newsroom and a brief look at plate-making.

My favourite part was the un-manned underground railway that takes the paper from the docks to the Tribune's print plant.

Part 2

This film is described as the second part of the other one. I don't think it is, it appears to be earlier and is silent with sub-titles.

It concentrates mainly on the cartoonists employed by the Tribune at the time.
