The World's Fastest Hot Metal Linecasting Machine
« on: March 12, 2010, 04:36:53 AM »

On Saturday November 7, 1964 the Beaver Country Times announces that they are installing the world's fastest hot metal linecasting machine. They paid US$25,726.39 for the machine. A machine that at 15 lines a minute, runs faster than it is possible for a human to manipulate the keyboard.

The story goes on to give us a brief overview of how the Elektron will be used at the Times. A brief history of Mergenthaler and his "Eight Wonder of the World", is also included in the story.
