Printle: A Printing Word Game from Metal Type

Mechanic

100 years ago this year Hermann Ridder, of the Ridder Publication Company, founded the International Typesetting Machine Company. Initially rebuilding Linotype machines until most of Mergenthaler's patents for the Linotype had expired. A number of operators I know say they prefer the Intertype to the Linotype. I can't argue with this as I have had little to do with the Intertype. I doubt if any of the original rebuilt Linotypes are around, but I've certainly run across a number of machines, still operating, built over 50 years ago.
