Here's a couple of great examples of headlines that the writer wishes they hadn't written:

Front cover, The Vancouver Daily World edition, Monday, April 15, 1912

I think several American papers carried this one in 1948:


Front cover, Chicago Daily Tribune, Wednesday, November 3, 1948

As an aside, the typography looks awful on this page. Did they up the point size for the election results? Looks like the Lino operators had their work cut out justifying the lines!
