Mini computers like Digital's PDP8 would also be hard to find as the contacts were coated with gold. When we dispensed with the two PDP8s we had, the retired SMH classified manager bought them for their book value. He told he could double his investment by melting the gold off the contacts.

Meanwhile the developer friendly state government wants to demolish the Powerhouse Museum and re-build it in Parramatta.

The museum already has vast amounts of material in store. The government could build another museum in Parramatta to display this hidden content (and, of course, the computer gear) and serve the allegedly unserved audience in western Sydney is not apparently an option.
